Satisfied clients

Cathy took very efficient charge of all the arrangements we needed for our conference, as a result of which the event flowed extremely smoothly, the evaluations were excellent, and a great burden of organization was lifted
from our Executive. If we put on a repeat in the future, we will certainly be using her services.
Martin Hattersley, Hon. Treasurer, Victims of Homicde of Edmonton Support Society

Cathy Harvey made our poetry festival events more fun AND easy for us. She brings a great combination of imaginative flair, attention to detail and experience to event management. People are still talking about the impact of the festival launch that she staged in City Hall, with a river of words flowing down the staircase.
Alice Major, Artistic Director, Edmonton Poetry Festival.

The Diverse Voices: Family Violence Conference in 2007 and 2008, drew 650 professionals and had 15 to 25 speakers local and international for each conference. As co-chair of the planning committee I can say we were very fortunate to have the services of Cathy Harvey of Cana Events. Her professional administrative skills and organizational abilities made both of these conferences happen much more smoothly with very few glitches. Any glitches that did occur she handled in a very prompt and efficient manner.
Pat Power, Co-chair Diverse Voices Family Violence Conference, Community Services, City of Edmonton

Cathy Harvey organized an International Family Conference for 116 people aged from 2 to 70 years from 10 different countries. I have attended many such conferences and this was one of the best organized. Cathy's attention to detail, efficiency, courtesy, and ability to understand the needs of people of different ages and different countries was a major factor in its success.”
Martin and Ruth Reardon, England

"Cathy’s mentoring skills are well established in working with staff, volunteers and board members"
Dan Bingham, Past Chair Ecumenical Commission, Archdiocese of Edmonton.

Cathy Harvey has the ability to keep the big picture in mind. Any event she organizes is very enjoyable and, at the same time, the message and goal of the sponsors are always achieved.
Rita Straus, Executive Secretary

“Cana Events was asked to plan and coordinate the youth programs at the International Conference of Interchurch Families. Youth between the ages of 14 and 23, from five countries, speaking two languages participated and contributed to the conference. Cathy's preparation and facilitation of this programme was absolutely crucial to its success.”
Melanie Finch, Coordinator Preproma, Rome 2003

Ms. Harvey quickly immersed herself in the planning of the week of events, building relationships with the key players. Her familiarity with events and coordinating volunteers proved very effective.
Lorna Stewart, Director of Community Relations, Edmonton Transit System

Cathy is very gifted in her abilities to work with volunteers in our organization. She understands that they all have different needs and goals for working with our organization. I have seen very few people who can pull it all off‚ like Cathy. She has a superb balance of excellence in the three essential elements of event work - initial vision, logistics and people care. All our people love her!

In retreat work Cathy has been thorough and thoughtful in hosting and hospitality. Her oversight has allowed our staff to relate to our committee guests while she takes care of everything. She is a terrific part of our team now and really relates well with all the people of our organization.

Cathy has produced timelines and objectives in a very professional manner and executed our events with what appears to be real ease. The best and the gifted always make it look easy. She's Wayne Gretzky!

“As the Volunteer Coordinator, Cathy had the difficult task of recruiting, training and supervising approximately 125 volunteers for a one time event that was an unknown quantity in Edmonton. Her job required initiative, independence, imagination and creativity in meeting the challenges of developing volunteer job descriptions, schedules and recruitment strategies from the ground up. Further, the nature of the Magnetic North organization, with staff members spread across the country coming together in the last weeks before the festival, required strong listening, communication and intuitive skills... She understands the value of a personalized experience for volunteers and took genuine pleasure in making their experience with the festival positive."
Eva Cairns, Magnetic North Theatre Festival, Associate Coordinator (Edmonton)
